Sheila McGovern’s hospitality and welcoming candor are how I recall the delightful person she was. The memory of singing alongside her and her family on my first visit to Ireland is an irreplaceable gift I am thankful to have received. I do not doubt that the chorus of morning birds has learned its best tunes from her love of singing, just as the sun has learned its most loving warmth from her reassuring smile. My deepest condolences to the McGovern family. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

I knew Mrs. McGovern since I was a child. She didn't have an easy life and had to cope with it a lot of tragedy and hardship, only recently losing Donal, her lifelong companion and support. I will always remember her as a woman of great positivity and joy and a sharp intelligence. Seeing her yesterday at her Funeral, I commented on how peaceful and beautiful she looked with her lovely Rosary beads in her hands. A fitting end for a woman of great faith.

Templeboy has lost one of its greatest characters and residents and as with Donal, will never be the same.
