I enjoy the programme, Nationwide on R.T.E. 1 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Sincere sympathy to the Robinson Family. May all our loved ones R.I.P. Amen.
Last Wednesday's Nationwide programme was most enjoyable about the great paintings that Gerry did during his lifetime, along with all the great speeches that he said.
— Patrick W Clarke, Limerick
Sending my sympathies to all Gerry’s family, just watched Nationwide - what an amazing man with great words of wisdom.
— Angela , Bantry, Co Cork
My thoughts are with Heather and all the family at this very sad time.
Gerry would light up a room with his humour, generosity and kindness.
In business and in life he was my sponsor, mentor and above all a great friend .
He was like an old pair of your favourite slippers which you may not have worn for a while but when you put them on you felt as if you had worn them yesterday. We may not have spoken for a while but when we talked it was as if we had spoken yesterday and he would always say ‘great to talk fella’
Goodbye Gerry.
— Charles Allen

Comhbhrón doimhain Chroí to Lady Heather, his sons and daughters and the entire Robinson family. Gerry's smile, spirit and generosity lit up the lives of all who met him and of millions of people here and abroad who knew him in other ways. Born near an old Workhouse, he responded to the Folk Memory of the Famine and opened his heart and his home to the child victims of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster year after year when they visited Donegal. Truly, in the words of the song, the heart of the Robinson home in Oakfield was of Errigal proportions. The Chernobyl children swam, feasted and wondered as they enjoyed "togha gach bia agus rogha gach dí" as Oakfield rocked to the delighted cries of children, both Russian and local, for Gerry's and Heather's hospitality was biblical - "well shaken and tamped down" - the host families and their children were also welcomed to Oakfield.
For years he made substantial financial contributions to our children's cancer hospice in Mogilev, refusing to allow us acknowledge or even erect a Donor Plague out there.
On behalf of the children and their families in a now, even more troubled Belarus, and of all the host families down the years, we remember him here.
Gerry Robinson won't need our prayers, but they'll be said for him anyway - í measc na Naomh agus ar Dheis Dé go raibh sé !

In Belarusian salute we wish Eternal Glory, Honour and Peace to his memory.

From all at Donegal Aid for Belarusian Children.

So sorry to hear of the loss of Sir Gerry. I loved his program on the NHS in 2007. I gate crashed a conference in 2009 in Clontarf to hear him speak.
