Condolences to all the Poor Clare sisters on the death of your Mother Abbess Angela. She was a wonderful person. I remember visits to the convent to see my auntie Sister Gabriel and Mother Abbess was always there. She was such a strong and reliable presence and you felt you could trust her to be calm and capable in any situation. Over the years the nuns prayed for our exams and later in life if anyone was going through an illness or a difficult time. People often contacted mam for the nun’s prayers, as they knew she had contact with the convent and the Poor Clare prayers were always valued as special help in challenging times.
There were fun times too when we visited the convent as children. There were chocolate treats and there were many crafty creations which showed real talent. The food spread for visitors was always something to look forward to. The food was fabulous and I always remember the wonderful baking and the butter rolls! No visit was complete without a visit to the church where we hoped to catch a glimpse of a sister praying. We also enjoyed the barrel in the wall which turned so presents could be exchanged.
May Angela rest in peace and may God give you comfort in her absence.

My sincere sympathy to Mother Angela's family and the Poor Clare Community, on her death.
I'm remembering the many letters that were sent seeking prayers for family and friends over the years. Mother Angela always replied with reassuring words and the promise of prayer. When the time of stress or worry came to be, I always knew that Mother Angela would be praying for those I loved. I have kept these letters down through the years and still read them in times of uncertainty. They are still just as reassuring. Even when her eyesight began to fail, this didn't stop her in answering the call to prayer!
I pray and will continue to pray that Mother Angela is rewarded in Heaven.

My sincere sympathy to the Poor Clare Community, both the Sisters and the wider community, who were so much at the heart of the Convent in Drumshanbo. It was always a privilege to celebrate the Eucharist with the community there. Mother Angela was so much the heart of that, and the Mother who protected all under her wing. Deepest sympathies to the Poor Clare and Mercy Sisters communities in Drumshanbo, also Sr. Angela’s family and friends. I was very sorry to hear of Sr. Angela’s death, she was a great friend and support to me in my vocation throughout the years. An amazing woman of faith, with great humanity and practicality. A true witness of Contemplative religious life – deeply rooted in prayer but very in touch with the world and its needs. We were blessed to have her interceding for us before the Blessed Sacrament in the Poor Clare convent, we will now be even more blessed with her intercession in heaven. Rest in peace Sr. Angela, faithful spouse and friend of Jesus.
