My sincere condolences to the family
A very dear and dedicated
sister who worked alongside my late sister in law Monica Glenshaw in Murambinda for many years.
Remembered for her care and love for all.
— Sylvia Glenshaw
It's sad to hear of the passing on of Sr Barbara. I was born and bred at Murambinda Hospital. Her and Dr Monica literally brought me up. My mom used to work for her. Years later I would graduate with a degree in Lab Sciences and went to work there at hers and Dr Monica's request. Working closely with her showed me how dedicated and passionate she was to the Hospital and the people of Buhera. I really have fond memories. I got sad when she left to go back home to Ireland and hoped one day she would come back for a visit. They say wherever a beautiful soul has been there is a trail of beautiful memories, she has left so many memories. She is a hero of Murambinda. Will always remember her.

My condolences to her family, the LCM sisters, FMH and the Murambinda community at large. May Her Dear Soul Rest in Eternal Peace 🙏
— Johannes Mtetwa
So sorry to hear that Sr Barbara has passed on. It seemed to me that she was undestructable. We got to know one another in the 1990s when, with Christiane Stolhofer, I visited Dr Monica Glenshaw at Murambinda Hospital. Sr Barbara was fiercely protective of the hospital and of Dr Monica - practical and yet so connected to her spiritual work and to what she appreciated as the beauty of Murambinda's people and natural environment. In summary, unforgettable. Wishing her a good rest or further adventures, whichever she would prefer.

I worked with Sr Barbara at Murambinda Mission Hospital, Zimbabwe in 1994-5. As Matron from 1982 to 2013, she was an inspiring leader and a her devotion to her work and the needs of the poor was a great example. She was warm and great company. Her leadership helped develop the hospital from humble beginnings to one of the leading rural hospitals in Zimbabwe. The UK Charity Friends of Murambinda Hospital lead by people who worked with Sr Barbara helps maintain the legacy of her work there. She is greatly missed, I send my condolences to her family and fellow LCM Sisters.
