Sr. Canice Burns

I am saddened to learn of the passing of Sr Canice who was so much part of our lives as boarders in the 60s. She was an exellent teacher, one of many talents professional and caring a lovely person inside and out. May her gentle soul now find eternal happiness together with Sr Loretto in her Heavenly home.

I have just been reading the beautiful tributes to the late Sr Canice.
I was taught by the Mercy Sisters but I never knew Sr Canice.
She represents all that was good in those women who dedicated their lives in the service of others...the quiet unsung heroes.
May she rest in heavenly peace after a life so well lived.

Sincere sympathy to all the family of Sr Canice on her sad passing after a legendary and well lived life. I was terrified of her in school (probably not the attentive student !) but in adulthood we shared many fun catchups. Fond memories of her family visiting her when I worked in hotel in Belmullet and got to know her as auntie Pat which she always enjoyed I called her whenever we met. May her soul rest in peace and guide all of us who were part of her journey in this life. Sincerely Claire .

Sad to hear of Sr Canices passing. She was a great principle and I have fond memories of her when I was boarding in the Convent in Belmullet.

Sr. Canice, a pioneer of her time. It has been a privilege to know this very special person, who has been a guide, and an inspiration, keeping the true spirit of life and love.
