To have lived a life where you touched the lives of so many, working to making a positive difference to people and the planet, is a truly special thing. Thank you for everything you gave to me as an Auntie – for the many cultural experiences over the years (trips to the theatre, classical music concerts, art museums); for introducing me to the concept of a pyjama party when I was a child; and for the continued love and support you gave me as an adult. I will miss our conversations. Sending love and sympathy to all the Brennan family, especially my aunts and uncles, to members of Auntie Catherine’s community, and to everyone who feels the loss of this amazing woman. R.I.P., Auntie Catherine.

It was with great sadness that I learnt of the passing of Sr Catherine, my deepest sympathies to Fr Oliver and all the Brennan family. Sr Catherine was a remarkable woman, she had the unique ability of connecting with people, in particular with young people, she saw their potential when they couldn't see it themselves. Always gently guiding supporting and mentoring them.

Sr Catherine was so kind, generous of her time and selfless, characteristics that are so rarely found in people, she had a real presence in a room which is why she was respected by all.

May she rest in a peace.

It takes a village but one person can make the difference. A sincere thank you Auntie Catherine for all you did for us as children. Always generous with your time and counsel. Thank you for opening the door…to the world of art, music and culture.First books, first plays, and puppet shows, first galleries and museums. For teaching us contemplation in nature and the gift of curiosity from the earliest age. Sincere condolences to your brothers, sisters and friends.

May you continue the journey in joy and peace.

Sincere condolences to the Brennan family and the St. Louis Sisters on the death of Sr. Catherine. We first met with Sr. Catherine in 2014 as she mentored our parish in our journey towards recognition as an Eco parish. She presented us with our first Eco award in 2015, and kept in constant touch with us thereafter, encouraging and inspiring us to continue our efforts. In her last message to us, just 2 weeks ago, she encouraged us to continue our “ministry of healing, protecting and developing God’s creation, our common home”. She will be sorely missed by all the Eco-Congregation community, but her light will continue to shine in our hearts. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dílis.

Sr Catherine taught me on a Counselling Skills course about 20 years ago in Clane, Co Kildare. I recall that she had health challenges then that she just pushed through. She was a wonderful teacher; full of empathy and yet challenged us all to personal growth. She made a great difference to those whose lives she touched. I recall her as a person of great integrity. My deepest sympathy to her family and her congregation family. You can be so proud of her. She is surely high in heaven
