Saddened to learn of the death of Sr. Clare. Met her occasionally when I drove my sister Dolores for coffee to catch up on both their lives. Best buddies in Nigeria and later in Dun Lughaidh, they spent many summer holidays together with Sr. Martinian prior to Dolores’ illness. Clare has achieved remarkable work in her own quiet but effective low-key way. May her gentle soul now reap the fruits of her labour. Sincere condolences to St. Louis Sisters and to Clare’s extended family.

On behalf of myself and the members of Dundalk Bridge Club , I would like to extend sincere sympathy to the Sisters of St Louis and the Ryan Family on the death of Sr. Clare.
Sr Clare was a a valued member in our Bridge Club for several years .

I'm currently in Nigeria along with many of the Nigerian St Louis Sisters sending our heartfelt condolences to the Ryan family as well as the Sisters of St Louis in Ireland. Sr Alonso, as she was known in Nigeria, was a pillar of strength and a role model to her many past students and all whose lives she touched. May she now enjoy eternal life and love in God's presence.

So sad to hear of the passing of Sr. Claire I loved our monthly Monday evening gathering in her home in Coxes.She was so loving and so spiritual.She had such a warm heart and empathy.I have very fond memories of Sr. Claire.RIP dear Claire.

When I joined the school in 1984, I didn’t personally meet her in Mount Carmel. However, she was renowned among past students from Oka Akoko, Ondo State, Nigeria, for her love, attention to detail, and firmness, among other qualities. May Sister Alonso rest in perfect peace and may her family find solace, amen!

Sorry to hear of the passing of Sr. Clare. Clare a formidable woman and religious sister. She was the cornerstone of many developing projects in the Coxes Demesne and surrounding areas, which has shaped those communities into the vibrant and ongoing developments that exists even to this day. Clare was an extraordinary intelligent human being whose mission in life was to encourage all to be self believing which resulted in many to take up further education particularly in community development. This encouragement was accompanied by that lovely smile.
