I was saddened to hear of the death of Sr. Cora. She was a remarkable, inspirational woman. I am so grateful I had the opportunity to work with her in Barkorwa, Western Keyna in the 90’s. I was saddened to learn of the death of Cora. May she rest in eternal peace. I had the privilege of working with her in Spirasi North Circular Road in the Education department in the early noughties. She was passionate about education and the teaching of English to refugees and asylum seekers there. We shared many resources as well as many laughs and cups of coffee. She was headmistress of Our Lady of Mercy secondary, Regional superior. She worked in Kibwezi and in Formation as well as helping out the English Mercies in Barkorwa secondary school. In 1984 she visited Nairobi as superior general. She was distressed to see so many children from Mukuru slums on the streets. She requested me to assist them. Due to her intervention over 10,000 Mukuru children are in school and the population accessing health and social services. She was a woman of great vision and compassion. May she Rest In Peace.
