So sad to hear of the passing of Sr Liguori. My deepest condolences to Jim,and the extended Byrne family, to the St John of God communities in Wexford and Thomastown. I have lovely memories as a child travelling to Enniscorthy with my father John from Cromogue Lane.He always had to call on the Byrnes when we visited. When we passed near the turning which led to Caim, he would always remind me that his mother, Margaret Mullet was born there and that we had cousins in Mangan too. Sr Liguori lived life to the full and it was appropriate that her funeral was held on the feast Of the Sacred Heart of Jesus to whom she had great devotion. She was surely, humble of heart and so unassuming that her gentleness and kindness shone on all with whom she came in contact. Liguori was lovely in every way, always eager to help out in any difficulty.I so enjoyed meeting her in Thomastown when home from England and visiting Mary in Inistioge. May she now enjoy the rewards of all her labour. Ar dheis De go raibh a hanam dilis.

How blessed I am to have known Liguori, a dear friend. She was a woman of deep faith, who never doubted how much God loved her. Her long life was one of devoted service as a sister of St. John of God; as a 'hands on' nurse of 'the old school', totally committed to all in her care, with generosity, respect and sensitivity; as an attentive listener and encouraging support to all whom she encountered in St. Columba's. Liguori was a woman whose life was one of prayer, celebration, joy, love, generosity and wisdom. Loyalty to her friends and to her St. John of God sisters was the hallmark of her integrity. Her smile and laughter radiated her inner peace and lifted drooping spirits. Her great love for and pride in her extended family was shared with such openness, kindness and magnanimity. And how delighted she was to be loved and appreciated by them. She had a huge heart. Liguori, I thank you for the precious memories of all that we shared. Go raibh leaba agat i measc na naomh. I niothlainn De go gcastar sinn. Fondest love. .
