I heard of Aunty Mary's passing with a sense of relief that her suffering was at last over and also sadness for Mam, Aunty Jojo, Dan and Tom at losing another siblings. They are such a close family which is why Sr. Mary or Sr. Bosco as she was when we were young was a special guest at almost every christening, communion and confirmation in our family. Her beautiful funeral service was a fitting tribute to her. I had the pleasure of walking to the graveyard with Sr. Mary Carmody who told me her connection to the many friends and neighbour's paying their respects along the way. It was lovely hearing about the various groups and societies Aunty Mary was involved with. She will be missed by so many. Jojo

We have just watched Aunty Mary's funeral mass. A beautiful ceremony that celebrated a full-filled life and really captured the aspects that were important to her; faith, religious community, family and her life-long work in Carlow and Kenya. Thanks to all for such a wonderful send off - and think we all agree that maybe the typo (Sr / St) has more than a little truth in it!
