Fiona and I were deeply saddened to hear of Stella's passing.
I have very fond memories of the many race meetings enjoyed with Stella and Jerry, starting in the early 1960s, when I accompanied my late parents to see "Burst Flush", bred by my late father and owned by Jerry (If I am not mistaken, the start of his illustrious ownership and training careers, aside from his primary career as a veterinarian).
I particularly recall, with fondness, returning to Stella and Jerry 's lovely house in Borris for a great impromptu night of continued celebrations on the marvellous victory of their horse "Dim Wit" in the 1972 Thyestes Chase at their local track, Gowran. I accompanied my late dad,who ,announced, also invited some revenue ( !!!) pal back. Despite the uninvited guest, Stella was a most gracious hostess and we departed for home in the very early hours of the following morning.There were many more happy events with Stella and Jerry and Stella was always an absolute lady.
We would like to express our heartfelt sympathy to, especially, Sian,Jody,Joanne, Grace,Sophie and Chloe and also Stella's brother John and sister Una.May you all have very happy memories of Stella and may her kind soul rest in peace.
