Deepest sympathy to Stephen's family and friends. Stephen was such a big-hearted, kind and considerate man... His abrupt departure from this world is leaving a big void, this was much too soon. I'm very sorry I was not around to attend the funeral (I have just come back from a month abroad), and many thanks to David who very thoughtfully left me a message to tell me about the shocking news. Rest in eternal peace, Stephen.

As a fellow environmentalist I had the pleasure of working with Stephen over the last few years on community and environmental projects. I just recently met him on the 123 bus prior to travelling away over Christmas and I am saddened to hear of his untimely death. It feels so unreal that he could be dead.
Please extend my condolences to Stephen's family and friends who must be devastated.

I know Stephen from the Dublin Food Coop since 2005 or so. I always enjoyed meeting him. His spirit and humour always lifted me up. I feel honoured to have known him. With respect I have posted a formal photograph I took of him when he was on the DFC Coordinating Body on 22nd July 2006. I am happy to share this with you or please find it on this facebook link. So sorry to hear about Stephen, a really nice, sincere guy with hands as big as his heart, hands he always put to good work in protecting the environment. I am living in Colombia now and won't be able to attend the funeral, but I will be thinking of him. I missed him on my recent trip back, now I will regret that even more.
