Stephen was a life long friend to me and an enthusiastic partner in many excellent adventures. His positive attitude, his unfailing sense of humour and his kind, gentle disposition made him great and valuable company on every occasion we were together.

It's hard to grasp that he's gone and my heart is with Jody, Maisie and Rory. I am so, so sorry for your loss.

It is hard to process the loss of Stephen.

I have known him almost as long as I can remember, from our childhood in Avoca to meeting up from time to time in different parts of the world in our later years. In all those decades he never changed – always the same enthusiastic, generous, kind, curious and engaging person he had always been. He was always a constant in my life and I was so very lucky to have him as friend. I will miss him dearly.

My heart goes out to Jodie, Maisie and Rory – I can’t imagine their loss, and I hope that they can take comfort in the time that they had with Stephen. My deepest sympathies also to Fiona, Ciara, Sarah and Andrew and their families.

At such a difficult time I feel grateful to have known Stephen and for the influence of his gentle soul in my life. Thank you for who were and rest peacefully my friend.

I was so saddened to hear of Stephens passing. We went to school together and spent time in one another company for a number of years. Like with so many, we lost contact after he and his family moved out of the area. My sincere condolences to his family on this very sad occasion. May he rest in piece.
