— Sarah Jane Dillon
My deepest condolences to Stephen's family on his very sad passing. Like so many of his Rehab colleagues have noted here, Stephen was a "forever" presence in head office. Always there to lend a hand and solve a problem, he did so with great warmth and humour.

I will fondly remember his sense of fun and quick-witted repartee which I could never quite match! He was always the last person out of the building late in the evening, as he made sure everything was safe and secure. The clinking of keys meant Stephen was just around the corner, as he made his final rounds. One of those keys was undoubtedly the key to so many hearts that he touched over the years. Rest in Peace, Stephen. You will be greatly missed.
— Don Delaney, formerly Rehab

My heartfelt sympathy to Stephen's family at this sad time. Stephen was a pleasure to work with - nothing was too much trouble and always with a smile. He loved to tell a story - 'nuns walking the corridors' had me looking over my shoulder on hearing creaking floorboards in Roslyn Park, such were his storytelling abilities.

A genuine gentleman, Stephen had class and style, a rarity in these days.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Sincere condolences to Charlene, Stephen and to all of Stephen’s family and friends on your sad loss. I had the privilege of knowing Stephen during years spent working at Rehab Head Office. He was, without doubt, the beating heart of Head Office. Always dependable, helpful, and kind, Stephen’s sense of fun brightened up the office. I suspect that Stephen would’ve been uncomfortable with the outpouring of love and appreciation from former colleagues, but I hope he would have been privately touched by their comments. Your work is done, rest in peace now, Stephen.
— Dara Duffy
Sincere condolences to all of Stephen's family at this very sad time. During my 5 years at Rehab, Stephen became a very good friend of mine and to all of the IT team. We worked on many office move projects together and his work ethic could not be matched by anyone. On top of that, he was an absolute gent and also great fun to work with. He was often a great listener when I had problems or issues to deal with and needed to vent and he was always willing and able to do everything he could to help. I know he was loved by the staff and the students in Roslyn Park and will be sorely missed by everyone. I was shaken to the core and so sad to hear of his passing, but he will never be forgotten. A great man. R.I.P. Stephen.
— Gerry Philpott, ex Rehab
