So very very sad to learn of dear Miss Williamson' passing. She was an absolutely gifted teacher who developed my.love of the Irish language. She was kindness itself and always looked out for you. I was so happy to visit her in her lovely home and garden just before Covid and we had a lively chat ..to be treasured..
Sending deepest sympathy and prayers for her loving family
May Miss Eilliamson rest in eternal peace .
— Faith Ponsonby Nee Brandon
When I think of Gladys I immediately picture her mischievous smile and twinkling eyes. I was fortunate enough to count her as a caring colleague and friend when we taught together in Rathdown School. Since her retirement, up until her move to Dargle Valley, she remained an active member of our past teacher’s group the Liberty Bells and hosted many happy reunions in her wonderful home in Kilpedder. We were privileged to know her and enjoy her generous hospitality, beautiful garden and words of wisdom. I always looked forward to her Quiz at our annual Christmas dinners in Rathdown. She was an inspiring teacher and a treasured member of our school community who will be sadly missed.

It is with regret that I will be unable to attend Gladys funeral service. She was a dear and cheerful colleague who for many years, in the days before computers, constructed the time-table with great care to try and accommodate the needs of others.

Gladys Williamson was a gentlewoman. It was a pleasure to meet her around Greystones and Delgany over past decades, and have a chat. She remained Ms Williamson to me, a hangover from the 1960s when she taught us Irish at The Hall School, Monkstown. Gladys Williamson retained her keen interest in life, and in other people, down the years. I remember her asking me incisive questions, commenting thoughtfully and acknowledging new information with a decisive ducking down of her chin. Thank you Miss Williamson for happy memories. Rest in peace.
My condolences to her family, relations and friends.

Miss Williamson was my teacher at The Hall School in Monkstown from 1963 until 1968. While I am sure I tried her patience from time to time, she was a wonderful teacher and I only have happy memories of her; frequently as we were impatiently waiting for the end of evening prep, she would say "now, just before you go....." and impart a nugget. May she rest easy.
