Theodora is an irreplaceable element in the story of the Powys family of English writers, and the Powys Society devoted to them. She wrote about her memories of them all, especially her adoptive father Theodore, and of life in Dorset from the 1930s onward. She is fondly remembered by many friends. Later it was a pleasure to see her in Ireland where she seemed so much at home.
— Kate Kavanagh

Theodora was a remarkable woman who lived a very unusual life. She loved animals and nature and found peace and solitude in the Irish countryside. She was a very independent person and remained lucid to the end of her long life. She was the last remaining link to the world of the creative Powys family. Books were a source of joy and she died with Scott's Ivanhoe beside her on the bed.
— Patrick Quigley, Dublin
