Powers and Tessie were my ever so generous contacts (Kilrush 79) for relaying messages between me in Dublin and home in Donail many years ago when few homes had telephones. Both Tessie and her late husband Tommie were cut from the same bighearted hospitable cloth and are now rejoined in heaven where, through the mercy of God, they rest in peace. We were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Tessie. She was a lovely lady and we have very fond memories of walking down to Tessie and Tommy’s for groceries and being given ‘penny paper’ to enjoy on the way home.
