It has been one of life's greatest pleasures and privileges to have known Tim and his historical writings for more than half a century from the days we were next door neighbors on the University of the West Indies Campus in Jamaica and our all too rare meetings thereafter in London and Washington DC. Had Jacek lived he would surely have written a witty and joyous paean of praise in Polish style for his friend of The Golden Antilles.

Our deepest condolences to Dee and all his family on the passing of a great explorer.

We remember his wonderful lecture in Athens in 2011 when he brought to life his adventures during the Brendan Voyage , on an evening when Athens was engulfed in anti-austerity riots. He gave us a fresh appreciation of the incredible courage and ingenuity of our ancestors who envisioned a world beyond our western shores. The glorious music of “The Brendan Voyage” will be forever a tribute to his adventure. He will inspire future generations to discover our incredible planet in the spirit of the great explorers.
