I often slagged Tom off on his love of Sinatra but this was brought to an abrupt halt when we bumped into each other at the great man's concert in Lansdowne Road !!!

My sincere sympathy to the Coyle family on the sad passing of Tommie. He was a wonderful coach to me for many years. He shared his great knowledge of athletics with all his athletes and gave alot of time to coaching them. He had a great sense of humour. Some great memories of hard but fun training sessions under his coaching. May he Rest in Peace.

I wish to sympathize to the Coyle family on the death of Tommie. As an athlete in Clonliffe Harriers in the late seventies, he was our coach, our friend and our mentor. He was one of the nicest, most knowledgeable guys you could meet in athletics. His supervised coaching was planned, structured, appropriate to the individual and was so enjoyable. A generation of athletes in Clonliffe Harriers are so thankful for his generosity as a coach. May he rest in peace. Amen.

I remember your Dad well from when we were all growing up in Grange Park and what a positive influence he was , my sincere condolences to you and all your family.

Tommie, you did so much and impacted so many during your life. You had so many interests; your photography, your music, your love of Sinatra, your Newsletter, your stint as a Radio DJ, your paintings, and of course your dedication to so many athletes all over Ireland as a sprints coach. Your legacy will live on. Thanks for all the memories, grueling sessions over the sand dunes, and the coffee outings when you'd speak so proudly of your family.
