Sympathies to the Clabby family on the death of the unique and a definitly a once off Tony.
He and Madge were one of the first people in Meath Street Parish that i got to know when i was posted there in 1991 at the age of 24. Both were constantly supportive of us Augustinians. At Christmas and Easter Tony, with his effervescent personality, rallied the people in thanksgiving for us. We did everything to rail off the microphones but he always found a way
Tony, may you rest in peace. Thank you for the laughter, the example of loyalty, the commitment to the youth in the nothingness that was the 80s and early 90’s Ireland, for the cead mile failte that was your home on Gray street, and for sometimes rubbing me up the wrong way😂 but never taking offense and remaining a friend.
You and Madge reared a family you were always so rightly proud of.
Your work is done. A well deserved rest now with your beloved Madge in that place where partings are no more
— Fr. Niall Coghlan O.S.A.
