Deepest sympathy to the O'Shea family on the death of Tony. Tony was an avid supporter of Garryowen Football Club. I have no hesitation in saying That Tony was " The Light Blues " greatest supporter and administrator over a 62 year period. Tony was President , Trustee and hon. Treasurer of the Club which was Tony's second home. He spent many hours attending training sessions, watching matches and fund raising ( collecting at the gate at matches, collecting subscriptions, running dances in the club, organising club draw and many more fund raising activities }
. During the rugby season Tony could be in the club 5 days a week.
Tony was Hon. Treasurer when Garryowen won the grand slam of club rugby in 2007 -The All Ireland League, The All Ireland cup, The Munster Senior Cup and The Munster Junior Cups - a feat not equalled by any club. His son Tony was Asst. Treasurer
We travelled to many matches together with his son Tony and enjoyed the victories.
Tony played hockey and tennis with Catholic Institute - he was. Trustee of the Club. He was the Senior Tennis Champion for 23 years.
I have known Tony for 60 years . I will miss him - he was my best friend. May he RIP.
