So sorry to learn of Una's passing. She was truly a great advocate of behalf of women, a teacher and mentor to me in my own work but most importantly, she was a beautiful friend. To the McGuill family, my deepest condolences to you. Una will live long in your treasured memories. May she rest in peace 🕯🕯

I am so very sad to hear of the passing of my dear cousin Una. Una was special. Intelligent, brave, kind and sensitive. She was a great communicator. I will truly miss our chats where she educated me on McGuill family history and offered me support when I needed it. My heartfelt love goes out to you all xx

Una was my Head Tutor for a Lvl 5 Healthcare support course in TTC. She was such an amazing tutor. She was ridiculously intelligent, so supportive and had a wicked sense of humour. She made me believe in myself and gave me the confidence boost I so badly needed. I miss her wonderful stories and her infectious laugh 😂 She loved to teach, but most of all she loved her children (for whom she never stopped singing their praises) and of course her little fur baby Buzzbee.

R.I.P dearest Una and thank you for everything. My heartfelt condolences to her family and friends 🙏🕯️

Had the pleasure of having Una as my tutor back in 2015/16 in Arklow. Una was such an incredible intelligent lady, she was so positive and encouraging and she definitely helped change my life for the better. Una aunty was a mum to me during my formative years as a child in Glasgow. I wouldn’t be who I am if not for her enduring positivity, support and love; treating me like one of her own. I feel fortunate to have seen her two months ago and to know my daughter got to experience that same beautiful personality. She will be missed and never forgotten.

I am so sad to read that Una McGuill has died. Shocking news. What a loss to her children, brothers and sisters, just hugs to you all. I first met Una when she approached me to help set up Womens Aid in the very early 90s I think. She put together a team of 6 or 7 if i remember correctly and the rest is history. Una was the driving force, bringing her life experiences and a huge desire to make things better for women and children in the north east who had no one to turn to for advice, support and later, a room/home as they took control of their futures. I hope Una knew she saved many lives and helped many women and children onto a safe and better path as they passed through Womens Aid Dundalk. An inspiring woman who showed me what is possible if you just try. Una has left a beautiful mark on this earth, she will be missed.

I was extremely saddened to learn of Una's death. Una was an amazing woman who many years ago introduced me to the,then,largely hidden issue of domestic violence and abuse. She opened my eyes to the pioneering work of Women’s Aid Dundalk that listens to, believes, supports and empowers survivors. As founder of Women’s Aid Dundalk Una sowed the seeds for work that has had a significant impact on the lives of women and children experiencing domestic abuse. By raising awareness and challenging societal attitudes Una shaped a culture where violence against women is not tolerated. My sincere condolences to Laura, Cheryl,Stephen, and all who knew and loved Una. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Rest in Peace Una in the warm embrace of God and his angels.
