Dear Valerie, it’s been wonderful having you as a neighbour. We have been delighted by you taking on the cats and always being such a gorgeous lady to chat to. Your kindness and elegance and wonderful drive to keep moving, keep looking after yourself through the pandemic and beyond has been inspirational. From all your new friends and neighbours, Ruth, Stefan, the kids and of course your loyal pal Cinnamon and his brother Moji. We will miss you, Valerie. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h'anam dílis.

Valerie (and her mother) were great neighbours of ours since the late 1960s in University Road. Valerie was also a long-standing member of the Patrician Musical Society and a great friend to my aunt, Agatha Hanley.
She was a private, very intelligent and kind woman. The street is poorer for her passing.
