What a beautiful funeral for Val today... a fitting tribute for a beautiful person. I knew Val from our time in Australia where 7 of us shared a bedsit in Bondi many moons ago! Val kept harmony among us as only Val could do! She had a heart of gold & such a fun loving nature. I’m so glade we reconnected in the last couple of months sharing memories through photos of a time long ago. What a lovely tribute Val paid to Tony when she said she hoped her children would be as lucky in love as she was. No doubt she will be very near to you all & will continue to guide you.
Heartfelt sympathy to Tony, Evan, Muireann, Patrick & Con & the O Shea family on the passing of Val
May she rest in peace

My sincere condolences to Tony and to all Valerie’s family at this time. I had the pleasure of working with Valerie in Scoil Na Naomh Uilig. Valerie always smiling and full of craic and had words of encouragement and support for everyone.

She was so kind, and her kindness to all the children made her an incredible mentor to us all. Valerie was such an expert in her field, a wealth of information and expertise, but only ever made us feel that we are all working at the same level for the good of the children and of the school.

Many a good drink and nights craic we had with her too. Valerie would sing and dance with abandon and inspire sing songs, party pieces and speeches that made nights out so special.

I will miss her.
