Vera was a larger than life person who loved people, and gave of herself & her talents
to everyone she met. I met her over 55 years ago at the Achilles Fencing Club - She was an excellent Fencer and shared her skill with so many and gave great encouragement to
people willing to learn. She was magnetic and everyone loved Vera. She was Godmother
to our son Philip & we have wonderful memories & photographs to cherish of the special
events in Philip’s life. Vera will be sadly missed but fondly remembered. May she rest in eternal peace & may the good Lord welcome her into Heaven. Till we meet again🙏

It was with great sadness I heard of Vera’s passing. I first met her over 50 years ago in Achilles Fencing Club. She was a skillful fencer, but more importantly, she had a big heart, was always ready to extend a warm welcome, and lots of encouragement, and was generous with her time when it came to coaching new members of the club. Vera represented Ireland at the World Fencing Championships in Havana, an achievement she was very proud of and rightly so. She had a great sense of humor, and I have many fun-filled, happy memories of time spent in her company. Vera, you may be gone but you will never be forgotten. Condolences to Jimmy, Margaret, Phyllis, and their families. Yvonne and Sean McGuinness.
