My deepest sympathy to the Ryan family on the passing of Fr Liam. I was a young first year in St Patrick's College, Thurles when Fr Liam was ordained. I was invited to Fr Liam's 1st Mass and celebrations in Holy Cross and was accommodated with other students of the college in the thatched holiday homes in the area. Over the years I kept in touch with Fr Liam especially at Christmas time when I sent card. I received some lovely Christmas Cards from Fr Liam that he produced when he was in Killenaulle. I visited him there on an occassion of calling to the late Jimmy Ryan for a supply of hurleys. When I was in St Patrick's College, Fr Liam took me to visit Jimmy Ryan and order hurleys for my club. My late father collected the supply of hurleys from me in St Patrick's on the day before he died. Fr Liam's Mass & burial coincided with my late father's anniversary, April 26th. I still have the booklet of Fr Liam's first mass. Rest easy Canon Liam. You were a giant of a man in every sense. RIP

To quote Joseph Cambell "follow your bliss" and your world will open in unimaginary ways. Father Liam was one such person, had the pleasure of first meeting him in the staff room in Scoil Ruain can only smile on recollection of the memories that hearthy laugh and larger than life personality. Had the pleasure of him officiating at our wedding in 98 and his visits to our home. Condolences to all his family may he rest easy after a life well lived.
