I was so sorry to hear of Fr Paddy's death. I had intended to try and go to see him for some time. However, Covid and my own circumstances were obstacles I was unable to overcome. I studied under Fr Paddy in St Peters for the duration of my seminary years. He was always fair and a man of great integrity during a time when support and expertise were in short supply and indeed not accessible in the context of that time. Later I worked under his as president of the college and again he proved to be a man of truth and always open to learning and change. Some years later when I left the priesthood he stood by me and was one of my witnesses in the process of leaving. He will indeed Rest In Peace. Thank you Paddy for being just Paddy.
