Very sad to hear of Vinnie's passing. A great teacher, a gentleman and a warm, kind-hearted soul who cheered up some early days in the Junior School. We will miss you. RIP

We extend our deepest sympathy to Vincent's sister Margaret, brother John and to his extended family.
A mass for Vincent will be celebrated at Our Lady, Mother of the Church, Castleknock at 6pm this Saturday, St. Stephen’s Day.
Vincent was exceptional in the care and respect he had for the students who were lucky enough to pass through his hands. His interest in their welfare and life choices continued long after they had left school. As parents, we have witnessed Vincent's dedication to his work and we are sure that his pupils will always remember him as a wonderful teacher and as a caring and compassionate man. May he rest in peace.
— Mary and Pat Newham, Castleknock
Mr. Coolahan was the most wonderful teacher in Castleknock College - he typed up all his own notes for the students and was so committed and dedicated that he is impossible to replace. He was also a wonderful gardener and he took pride in his work, whether it was gardening or teaching. We have such great memories of him. May he rest in peace.

Incredibly sad news. One of the best teachers I had and more importantly a true gentleman. A fond memory is that I needed Macbeth for the leaving cert and it was sold out in all bookshops and I mentioned it to Mr. Coolahan in passing. He brandished his own copy printed back in the 70's and gave it to me. I said I'd return it once I was done with it or found a replacement and he insisted I keep it and hope that it would bring me luck! 15 years on and I have the book here beside me. I'll never forget it. A great man. RIP Sir.
