Very sorry to hear of Vincent's death, R.I.P. Sincere condolences to Annette, Rory and Colm. Vincent was a scholar and a gentleman. His family can be proud of his contribution to research on the O'Donnell dynasty, and his publications. He has left a lasting legacy and will be greatly missed by all who knew the extent of his knowledge. It was a privilege to meet him on so many occasions in Donegal Castle.

It was with great sadness I learned of the passing of Vincent. He welcomed me to Donegal many years ago, brought its history alive. Remembering great evening of songs and story in Donegal Castle, in Rome, and in Switzerland, where other great O Donnells had gone before. Vincent is as much a part of Donegal to me the Bluestacks on a summer's evening, and always will be. I imagine him as fitting seamlessly into the ranks of his ancestors, having earned his place as a keeper of tradition, a wonderful family man, and a cherished member of the community. Rest in Peace Vincent, and thank you.
