My sympathy to all the family.
Bill was a lovely person to fly with as his co-pilot and to know as a person.
A pity he didn't quite make it till his ex colleagues could celebrate with him his long and eventful life at our next gathering in November.
My best Regards, Mike

Allan, Irene and Fiona: I first flew with Bill in the spring of 1966 and after that flew with him many times when others would not fly with "the new cadets". He was the ultimate gentleman, who taught us as we worked with him. He always treated you as his equal, long before that was the norm in the cockpit. It is only in recent years that I learned of his extraordinary history: he was a quiet and a very unassuming man. It was my privilege to have known your dad and to have been his co-pilot on many occasions over the years.
He will be greatly missed: may he rest in peace.
— Peter Delany
