Dear Christopher, Lisa, Jacinta, Bill and Emma and all the extended family, I was saddened to hear of the passing of your Dad Bill and want to extend my deepest sympathies to you all, and on behalf of mum Eileen & Laura.
A true gentleman, friend and mentor on so many levels. My Toastmaster colleagues below have conveyed the wit, joy and experience he brought to our meetings, even right through the pandemic joining us online.
However by longest memories of Bill are in my childhood growing up in Bishopgrove.
With my mum out working every day, both he and your late mum opened the door of no.73 to Laura & I warmly, like a 2nd home and (like many in Bishopgrove) were surrogate parents to us. I always remember your Dad taking us down to Bannow beach in the old white Renault 18 hatch back ( packed to the gills) and we singing & he clapping. Don’t know how he managed us all! May he rest in peace / Ar she is Dé go raibh a hAnam dílis
— Ivan Cuddihy
Im very sorry to hear of Bills passing. What a gentleman with such great stories to tell. I knew him as a member of toastmasters and his speeches were a joy to watch him perform, wonderfully crafted and would have us all laughing.

He was kind with his time giving me advice as a newcomer to tower toastmaters and making myself and others so welcome.

I hope Bills family can take great solace knowing he will live on in many of our happy memories.
— Lee McGuigan
