Declan Patrick Loughrey

Loughrey Declan Patrick. Scariff, Tubber, Gort, Co. Galway. Peacefully passed away on the 20th of August 2021 at U.H.G, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his son Sean.

Cherished and much loved by his wife Caroline and adoring daughters Caelan & Aoife and loving son Conor. Fondly remembered by his parent’s Michael and Kitty and by his brother’s Johnny, Mícheál,           Fr. Vivian and sister Maura (Daly), sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, mother-in-law Pat Fortune (Tipperary), nephews, nieces, grand nephews, grand nieces and by his extended family, friends and neighbours.

In accordance with HSE and government guidelines on public gatherings the funeral mass and the family home is strictly private and for family only at this time.

Declan's Requiem Mass will take place in St. Annes Church Shanaglish on Sunday, August 22nd, at 1pm. Declan will then be laid to rest afterwards in Shanaglish Cemetery. The funeral mass will be streamed live here. Family flowers only please, donations, if desired, to The Galway Hospice Foundation.                              

The funeral cortege will leave his residence at 12.20pm and travel via the Barracks, Whelans Bar and onwards to St. Anne's Church. People attending the funeral route are kindly asked to please social distance and refrain from hand shaking at all times. The Loughrey family deeply appreciate your support at this sad time.

The family would like to thank the medical and nursing staff of G.U.H and The Galway Hospice Foundation, especially the nurses and doctors who cared for Declan with such compassion and kindness.
