Hugh Rooney
Hugh Rooney of Woodlawn, New York, formerly of Scotstown, Co. Monaghan, Ireland passed away on February 7. He was 88 years old. He was the beloved husband of Margaret (O'Neill) for 59 years. Predeceased by his son Michael, and his siblings Elizabeth "Betty" Gavin and Oliver. Cherished father of John, Lisa (John) Fogarty, Thomas (Lisa) and Martin (Allyson). Loving PopPop to Conor, Lauren, Olivia and Madeline "Maddy". Hugh will be missed by everyone who knew him, especially his siblings Alban "Patrick" Mackie, Margaret Rose, Tom, Ann, Alexis, Ronan, and Sean, many nieces, nephews and cousins in the U.S. and abroad.
Viewing will take place on Friday, February 9, 2024 from 4:00- 8:00 P.M. in Hodder Farenga Funeral Home, 899 McLean Avenue, Yonkers, N.Y. 10704. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 10:00 A.M in St. Barnabas Church, Bronx, NY. Interment to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.
