Joe McGrath

On November 23rd 2023, JOE passed away peacefully in the presence of his family in the wonderful care of doctors, nurses and staff at Bantry General Hospital. Predeceased by his wife Ena, parents Patrick and Ellen, sister Mary and brother Connie. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his sister Kitty (O’Hara), sisters in law Margaret (McGrath) and Phil (Kearney), brother in law Vincent (Tobin), his nieces Helena (O’Donovan), Margie (McSweeney) and Caroline (O’Connell), nephews Patrick and Tony (O’Hara), grand nephews and grand nieces, his relatives, kind neighbours and friends.

May he rest in peace.

Joe’s family would like to say a special thanks to all who cared for him, his home helps, carers, public health nurses, staff of Bantry General Hospital and members of the palliative care team, it is very much appreciated.

Reposing in Coakleys Funeral Home Bantry on Friday, November 24th, from 6pm to 7.30pm with vigil prayers at 7.30pm. Requiem mass on Saturday, November 25th, at 12.00 in St. Finbarr’s Church, Bantry, (to view livestream please click here), followed by burial in the Abbey Cemetery, Bantry. Family flowers only, donations in lieu, if desired, to the Bantry Hospice Project, Newtown, Bantry or West Cork Palliative Care, Primary Care Centre, Dromleigh, Bantry.
