John (Sonnie) Hurley

On December 12th, 2024, SONNIE passed away peacefully in his 92nd year in St Joseph’s Unit, Bantry General Hospital. Beloved son of the late John and Margaret Hurley, dear brother of Mary (Hellen), Eileen (Lane), Ann (Hogan), the late Margaret (Coughlan) and Kathleen (Reilly). Sadly missed by his loving sisters, brothers-in-law Richie, Dan-Joe and John, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, great-grandnephews, great-grandniece, relatives, kind neighbours and a large circle of friends.

May he rest in peace.

Sonnie’s family would like to express a sincere thank you to all the staff at St Joseph’s Unit for the wonderful care and kindness shown to him, it is very much appreciated by them.

Reposing at Coakley’s Funeral Home, Chapel Street, Bantry on Friday Dec. 13th from 5.30pm to 7pm with vigil prayers at 7pm. Requiem Mass on Saturday Dec. 14th at 12noon at St Finbarr’s Church, Bantry (to view live stream please click here) followed by burial in the Abbey Cemetery, Bantry. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu if desired to St Joseph’s Unit, Bantry General Hospital.
