John Tackaberry

John J. Tackaberry “Tack” to many family & friends and “Papa Tack” to his beloved granddaughter Lucy. Born in Ballybunion Co. Kerry, Ireland, passed away peacefully on November 8th at home with his family by his side. He is survived by his son Seán J. Tackaberry, daughter-in-law Jennifer Jorgensen, and adoring granddaughter Lucille Jacklyn Tackaberry. He is survived by sister Margaret Forde (Finian), Sister-in-Law Marie Tackaberry (Jeremia), and many nieces, nephews, and godchildren.

John is predeceased by his beloved wife Jacklyn (nee Holzhausser), sister Mary O’Leary, brother Jerry Tackaberry, and parents Kathleen (nee Lynch) and Cornelius Tackaberry.

John proudly served as a Sergeant in the United States Army. He worked as a carpenter and a banker, co-founding River Grove Bank & Trust. He lived in Chicago and McHenry ILL. for most of his life.

His wake/life celebration will be at Old Towne Hall, 54 Brink St. Crystal Lake ILL. 60050 on December 12th from 3-7 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church,1401 N. Richmond Road, McHenry, IL 60050 on December 13th at 10 am followed by burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery
