Larry Connolly

The death has occurred of Larry Connolly, Renmore Crescent, Renmore, Galway.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Larry, beloved husband of Anna and loving father to Elaine. Predeceased by his treasured sons Evan and Conor, his sister Marion and his brother in law John. He was a devoted and adoring grandfather to sweet Odhrán and darling Emer, and a much loved brother to Annette, Tommy, Martin and Michael. Larry was also a beloved father-in-law to Caroline and Brendan, and a caring uncle to his nieces and nephews as well as treasured members of the extended Connolly and Wade family. Larry passed away peacefully on Monday, in the compassionate care of Bushfield Nursing Home, after a long illness borne with remarkable courage and patience.

He will be deeply missed by his friends, former work colleagues at Galway City Council, his kind neighbours in Renmore Crescent and the wonderful staff of the Galway Hospice who enriched his life in so many ways.

His warmth and generosity touched all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Larry’s legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of his family and of all who were fortunate to know him.

Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Larry on Monday, 18 November, at St. Mary's Church, Claddagh on arrival at 11.00 a.m. Following Mass, Larry will be brought to Shannon crematorium for a committal Service at 2.00 p.m.
