The death has occurred of
Major John DUANE
Duane, Major John, MC (WW2) late of Carra, Kilrickle, Loughrea, Co. Galway, on January 17th, under the excellent care of Retreat Nursing Home, Athlone Co. Westmeath, in his 97th year. Beloved husband of the late Doreen (née Ryan), late of Lever Bros. (Ireland) and former captain of Galway Golf Club.
Much loved uncle and grand-uncle, sadly missed by his nieces Carmel Devlin (Athlone), Marian Garvey (Kilrickle), nephews Sean and Pat Rice (Limerick and Mullingar), their spouses Pat, Francis, Nina and Rose, sister-in-law Katie, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, relatives and friends.
Reposing at Kilboy's Funeral Home, Bride Street, Loughrea, on Wednesday, January 18th, from 5.30pm to 7pm, followed by removal to St. Brendan's Cathedral, Loughrea. Funeral mass at 12 noon on Thursday 19th January, followed by interment in the Carmelite Abbey Cemetery, Loughrea.
