(née Brough)
Margaret (Gretta) Downes (née Brough) (late of Palmerstown, Dublin 20) sadly passed away on 1st March 2023, suddenly, after a long illness bravely borne. Beloved wife of the late Joseph (Joe) and devoted mother of Anne-Marie, John and Evelyn and loving grandmother to Alannah, Lucia and Luan. Youngest of her pre-deceased parents James and Anne, her brothers Seamus, Sean and Gerry, and her sisters Ethna and Tess. She will be sadly missed by her loving family, son-in-law Paul, daughter-in-law Suzanne, Anne-Marie’s partner Gerry, sisters-in-law Evelyn and Ann, brother-in-law Monsignor Stephen Downes, nieces, nephews, extended family and her wonderful neighbours and friends.
Reposing at Bourke’s Funeral Directors, 71 Queen Street, Dublin 7 (D07 CF68) on Saturday afternoon from 2pm until 4pm and on Sunday afternoon from 2pm to 4.30pm prior to removal to the Church of the Assumption, Ballyfermot, on Sunday evening arriving at 5pm. Gretta’s Funeral Mass will take place on Monday morning at 11am with burial afterwards at Glasnevin Cemetery (St. Paul’s).
