The death has occurred of Martha Jane (Meta) Rountree, née Armstrong, The Glebe, Magheracloone, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan, peacefully at her home in her 98th year, 13th August 2021.


Predeceased by her husband Dick. Deeply regretted by daughter Meta, son Archdeacon Richard, son-in-law Lester, daughter-in-law Elizabeth. Sadly missed by her sisters, brother, seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Due to government advice regarding public gatherings a private funeral service will take place St. Molua's Church, Magheracloone with burial afterwards in the adjoining graveyard. Meta’s Funeral Service will be available to view online at 2pm on Monday afternoon, 16th August, on the following link;

Meta's funeral cortège will begin from her home on Monday afternoon travelling on foot to St. Molua's Church, from 1.30 pm approximately.

Neighbours and friends are very welcome to line that route in a safe and socially distanced manner as a mark of respect. Those who would have liked to attend, but due to current restrictions cannot, please leave a personal message in the 'Condolences' section below.

Elite Plumbing & Heating, Baileborough will be closed on Monday as a mark of respect.
