Mary Teresa Morris
(née Grealish)

Mary Teresa Morris (nee Grealish), 82, of Moneta, Virginia, USA, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 12, 2024. She was born in Prospect Hill, Galway, Ireland, and was predeceased by her parents, Winifred and Michael Grealish of Water Lane, and siblings Patrick, John, Tom, Oonagh, Michael, and Bridie.

In recent years in her spare time, Mary hand-knitted hats for newborn babies in the Roanoke, Virginia Lewis-Gale Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. In total, she made and donated almost 7,000 hats to local premature babies over the years. Mary volunteered weekly for 15 years with the Lake Christian Ministries of Moneta, Virginia to help local families in need.

She is sadly missed by her husband of 57 years, Donald E. Morris; daughter, Michele Sons (Sam Krisch); sons, Kieron Morris (Nina Morris) and Ronan Morris; grandchildren, Sophie Sons, Finn Morris, and Aidan Morris; and siblings, Judy Fusinaz, Helen Fitzgerald, Martin Grealish, Peggy Kingston, and Anne O’Donnell.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 2pm on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Oakey’s South Chapel, 4257 Brambleton Avenue, Roanoke, Virginia (540) 989-3131. Her remains will be laid to rest in her hometown of Galway, Ireland in July, further details TBD.
