Barrett, Michael (retired Garda sergeant), Bray, Co. Wicklow, and late of Ballinahaglish, Ballina, Co. Mayo, died peacefully on 4th January 2024 at Blackrock Clinic, following a short illness. Predeceased by his parents Martin and Annie Barrett, his cousin Gerald Coggins, and his recently deceased brothers, Paddy and Gerry. Dearly loved husband and best friend of Della (née Dowling, Athlone) and proud and cherished dad of Conor, Gavin and Max. Darling ‘Mikey’ to his nine grandchildren, Max, Maria, Marie-Hélène, Stéphane, Sébastien, Matthieu, Athena, Petros, and Mikhalis. Loving father-in-law to Anne, Madeleine, and Agapi; and beloved brother of Margaret (McCullough, Swinford). Deeply missed by his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and friends, and the extended Barrett and Dowling families.
The family would like to acknowledge the care and support received from the wonderful staff at
the ICU Unit, Blackrock Clinic.
Reposing at home on Sunday, 7th January, from 2pm-4pm. Remains arriving at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Putland Road, Bray for funeral Mass on Monday, 8th January, at 12 midday, which can be viewed here, followed by burial at Redford Cemetery, Greystones, Co. Wicklow.
