Michael Keane

Keane (Model Farm Road Cork and late of Newport Co Mayo), Michael John Keane, passed away peacefully at Marymount Hospice on Friday September 23rd, 2022 with family by his side. He was 79 years old. A native of Newport, Co. Mayo, he is preceded in death by his parents Michael and Peig, and his two brothers Frank and Paddy. He is survived by his sister Mary (Devaney).  Michael and his family left Mayo in the 1950's in search of work in England, where he trained as an electrician and later worked in Chicago, back to Manchester and later Cork, with his wife Catherine, (Kitty), (née O'Connor) to raise 3 children Ann-Marie, Michael and Claire. Sadly, missed by his loving wife and family, daughter-in-law Elizabeth, son-in-law Lawrence, sister Mary, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends especially his lifelong friend John. 

Lying in repose at Crowley's Funeral Home, Ballincollig, Sunday, September 25th from 5-6pm. Requiem Mass Monday, September 26th at 12 noon, in the Church of Christ our Light, Ballincollig, which can be viewed on https://www.churchservices.tv/ballincolligchristourlight
