Pauline Philomena Davies

The death has occurred of

Pauline Philomena Davies
(née Gribbin)

Loughshinny, Dublin

Pauline Philomena Davies passed away peacefully on May 6th 2024 in the fantastic care of the angels who work in Teresa ward at Beaumont Hospital Dublin. She succumbed to CLL, a form of blood cancer, after a 12 year fight. She knew that it was incurable, yet treatable, and continued to live life like CLL was never there. In the past year, she was in and out of hospital frequently, often for many weeks, as the disease began to take a tighter grip.

A true force of nature, Pauline lived a very full life. Originally from South Dublin, she lived with her family in many places in the world, including the UK, the Middle East (Abu Dhabi, UAE), Portugal and South East Asia (Malaysia) before returning to settle in the picturesque fishing village of Loughshinny in North County Dublin. She loved travelling and visited many different countries, always making friends with her infectious laugh and her great sense of humour. The phrase never met a stranger was so apt , it could have been written just for Pauline.

She leaves behind husband Frank, son Mark, his partner Marta and granddaughter Elisa,(Ireland); step son Ashley, his wife Lucinda, niece Francesca and nephew Dominic (all in Australia); brothers John and David, sisters-in-law, Pam and Ilsa, with nephews and nieces John, Pauline (Ireland), Ellie (Canada) and Alana (UK) and their families; brothers-in-law Dennis and Ray, and sister-in-law Shirley along with their partners and families (all in the UK).

She also leaves behind a huge amount of loyal and close friends from Ireland, UK, Spain, Portugal, USA, Canada, UAE, Oman, Malaysia, Singapore and Australia. She will be very sadly missed.

She will lay in repose at Lannon's Funeral Home on May 12th from 3-pm to 5pm. Her funeral mass will be held in St. Patrick's Church, Skerries on May 13th at 10am, where mass will be streamed live on line, followed by cremation at Dardistown Crematorium in north County Dublin at 12.30 p.m.
