Phil Byrne

The death has occurred of Philip Byrne, husband of Cathy and father of Charlie, Evan and Dayna.

Many will know Phil as the owner of Seán’s Bar in Athlone and from his involvement in horse racing. He is a native of Greenhills in Dublin and he lived in Chicago in the early 90s, where he has many friends.
Cathy and the children, Philip’s mother Joan, his sisters, Catherine, Anne and Yvonne his brother Ray, along with his parents-in-law, Noeleen and Shay and his extended family, staff and friends, are deeply saddened at his sudden death at home last Friday. Philip’s father Charlie died in October 1988.
We are so grateful for all the messages of support from our extended family and friends over the last few days. We would like especially to thank the ambulance personnel who took care of Phil at the house and for the kindness of the Gardaí and the staff in Mullingar General Hospital.

Requiem Mass in Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Coosan at 12 noon on Thursday followed by private cremation.
