Rita Meehan (née Fordham), Kiltiernan, Kilcolgan, Co. Galway. 27th of April 2021 , peacefully in the exceptional care of the staff at UCHG.

Predeceased by her much loved husband Sean.

Rita will be greatly missed by her loving children Mary (Furey), John, Gerard, Finbar, Nollaig (Forde) and Colm. Brother Brendan, sons-in-law Bartley and Liam, daughters-in-law Niamh, Ann-Marie, Connie and Tara. Grandchildren Conor, Lorna, Sean, Kieran, Joanne, Niall, Robert, Leah, Mark, Rían, Amy, Sarah, Ronan and Hannah. Sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

In accordance with government guidelines and restrictions regarding public gatherings, Rita's funeral will take place in private attended by her family only.

Rita's funeral cortege will leave her home in Kiltiernan and travel via Keamsella to St. Colman's Church, Ballinderreen on Thursday 29th of April for Funeral Mass at 12 noon followed by burial afterwards in Drumacoo Cemetery. House private by request.

Funeral Mass will be live streamed on the Ballinderreen/Kinvara parish Facebook page. Those who would have liked to attend but cannot, may leave their messages of condolence for Rita's family in th 'Condolences' section below.

A light has gone out in Kiltiernan today. We say goodbye to our wonderful loving mother, and brilliant Nana who was adored by all her grandchildren. Rita was known for her warm welcome, humour and good company. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The Meehan family wish to thank the wonderful staff at UCHG and Kilcolgan Nursing home for the care shown to our mother in the last year. We also deeply appreciate our kind neighbours and friends for the love shown to Rita through the years.
