The death has occurred of
Rt. Rev. Msgr. Denis Francis O'Callaghan
The death has taken place of Rt. Rev. Msgr. Denis Francis O’Callaghan (late of Meelin, former Vice-President of St. Patrick’s College, Maynooth and retired Parish Priest of Mallow) who passed away peacefully on November 26th 2024 in the tender care of the staff at Teach Altra Nursing Home, Newmarket. Predeceased by his parents Mary and John Denis, brother Tom, sisters Maisie, Eileen and Kathleen.
Sadly missed by his sisters Margaret (Peg) and Nora (Crimmins), nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives, Bishop of Cloyne Most Rev. William Crean, the Clergy of the Diocese of Cloyne, the college body of Maynooth, the staff and residence at Teach Altra Nursing Home, Newmarket, his fishing friends, neighbours and the many parishioners of Mallow and Waterville, Co. Kerry.
May Fr. Denis Rest In Peace.
Lying in repose at O’Connell’s Funeral Home, St. James’ Avenue, Mallow (P51 HH61) on Wednesday (November 27th) from 6pm to 7.30pm followed by Removal to St. Mary’s Church, Mallow.
Concelebrated Requiem Mass on Thursday (November 28th) at 2pm which may be viewed on www.churchservices.tv/mallow.
Burial afterwards in St. Mary’s Church grounds.
