Sr. Anne CROGHAN

Sr. Anne CROGHAN (formerly of Roxboro, Roscommon) passed away peacefully at St. Michael’s Villa, Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, USA on October 12, 2024. Sr. Anne was born in Roxboro, Roscommon on 19th February 1924 and entered the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace on 2nd February 1944 in Nottingham, England before moving to New Jersey in 1946. She celebrated eighty years of religious life in 2024.

Sr Anne was pre-deceased by her parents Thomas and Annie Croghan, Roxboro, her brothers Thomas (Roscommon), Brendan (Limerick), Charles (London) and baby brother Luke, her sisters Maureen (Moate), Kathleen (Manchester) as well as her nephew John (London) and grandnephew Colm Maloney (Dublin) as well as brothers-in-law John Maloney (Moate) and Richard Phillips (Manchester), sister-in-law Agnes Croghan (London). She was also pre-deceased by her close friend St. Francis Scanlon csjp, from Keadue, Boyle.

She will be sadly missed by her sisters-in-law Joan Croghan (Roscommon) and Breda Croghan (Limerick), her nephews and nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces and great-grandnephews and great-grandnieces, extended family and her sisters in the community of St. Joseph of Peace and her many friends.

A combined wake service and liturgy of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, October 23rd 2024, at 10am at St. Michael’s Villa, Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey followed by internment at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, New Jersey.
