O'Donoghue/Ross passed away quietly at his home overlooking Lough Guitane on 30th May 2023 at the age of 81. He was an internationally respected artist/sculptor/printmaker, particularly known for his "Cappal Mór" sculpture and the Sculpture Road to Killarney along the N22, the "St. Brendan the Navigator" sculpture atop Samphire Island at Fenit and the stained glass windows "Why is There Anything Instead of Nothing" in the East Chapel of St. Mary's Cathedral in Killarney. He was the hereditary Chief of the Name of the O'Donoghues of Ross, descended from the legendary alchemist and Prince of Lough Lein, O'Donoghue Mór.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth; son and heir to the chieftainship, Eoghan, his wife Deirdre and their sons Tiernan, Lorcan and Darragh; daughter Siobhán, her husband Bernard and their children Alanna and Hugo; daughter D'Ana, her husband John and their sons Sean and Donal; his sister Nancy, niece Melissa and her husband Chris and children Riley and Ryan.
His legacy will remain through his loving family, his friends, hundreds of sculptures and thousands of prints and paintings. As he pointed out -

Reposing at O'Shea's Funeral Home, Killarney V93 KX61 on Tuesday evening, 6th June 2023 from 4.30pm to 6.30pm followed by removal to St Mary's Cathedral. Requiem Mass on Wednesday morning at 10.30am, followed by cremation. The Requiem Mass will be live streamed on https://www.churchservices.tv/killarneycathedral.
