William Colin Fulton, Houston, Texas, U.S.A.
This world lost a man of great character and refined principles. Sought after for his intelligence and sage advice -Colin was the consummate adviser and thoughtful friend. He always did what he could for everyone, strong and supportive without making a fuss.
Colin adored his family fiercely and made them his number one priority. He lived globally, a citizen of the world. He had friends and family everywhere who cherished the time they spent with him.
He was meticulous about how he lived his own life, but was ever accepting of all of us and of our idiosyncrasies -except a messy kitchen and piles of junk mail. With a quiet nature, he found immense joy and stability in the frenzy of his robust professional and family life.
For those of you who travelled with Colin, you know how particular he was about getting on the airplane first and getting settled for his flight. With this life taken from us far too early, we find comfort knowing that he boarded his final flight early, once again, but he is getting the cabin ready for the rest of us and has secured the overhead compartments. He left the flight deck too early, fighting his way down the runway. Some of our brightest lights often burn out before their time. The life and love we shared with Colin is timeless and we are better people to have had the opportunity to hold him in our hearts.
He leaves behind the love of his life- his wife Monica, two amazing children- Aidan and Emma, his parents- William and Maureen Fulton, his brother and sister in law- Nevin and Myran, nieces Ashleigh and Rachel and a long line of family and friends.
Colin was a Managing Director at Accenture who retired last April and was shortly thereafter diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. Over the last year he heroically battled the disease, fueled by his unyielding faith and the support of his family and friends. As is too often the case with this disease, this was not a battle that could be won and he passed on April 29, 2016.
Colin was an esteemed member of the Board of Trustees of the Awty International School, Search Homeless Services and a former member of the Board of the Houston Grand Opera. He was also a life coach who helped so many define their purposes and paths in this life.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held at eleven o’clock in the morning on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Christ Church Cathedral at 1117 Texas Avenue in Houston.
Remembrances can be made to The Awty International School – Colin Fulton Fund, or Search Homeless Services – designated in memory of Colin Fulton.
